DRRTY Martini

DRRTY Martini

Rumor has it that James Bond asked for his martinis shaken because it further diluted the spirit and the remaining ice chips on top would melt to create an initial sip of water. so he could take a drink without getting drunk. What good is a drunk spy anyway. For us average folk it's more about preference. Shaking is meant to combine ingredients that don't typically go together (Non spirit items with spirits) Anytime citrus, egg whites, anything that need to bind together with the spirit. Stirring is preferred for Booze forward drinks. it allows for a more controlled dilution and less aeration which creates a smooth viscous mouth feel in a cocktail.

2oz Vodka or Gin
.25oz Brovo Dry Vermouth
Olive Juice
3 Feta Stuffed Olives

In a mixing vessel add the vodka, vermouth and olive juice. If you aren't a fan of vermouth leave it out entirely or dump it inside of the martini glass give a swirl and  dump the excess out in the sink. Stirring times are up to taste. The longer you stir the more mellow the spirit appears. Adding flavorings or Olive Juice in our case dilutes it initially and often requires less stirring. I suggest anywhere between 10-20 seconds should do the trick. Strain into a martini glass and garish with your favorite olives I reccomend Feta stuffed olives, or Garlic stuffed olives make a good pairing with charcuterie boards.
